Two For One Plus One: Taking Care of Business, while supporting Black Owned Business.

SoMich Grad Chapter, GLRD Jeff Wafer(Detroit Grad) and Janet Webster Jones, owner of Source Booksellers.

Part of the mission of the Fellowmen of the Southern Michigan Graduate Chapter of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Incorporated, is to support Black Owned Businesses in the city of Detroit.

Many of these are long standing institutions have weathered the storm during years of economic downturn, when there was little investment in the city. However, now with billions of dollars of investments being spread unequally across the city, the chapter decided to launch a new initiative: to have our chapter meetings in Black Owned establishments to support them.

By patronizing these businesses, we can help to keep them from closing or relocating from the city due to gentrification.

As a part of that support, SoMich Grad donated $300.00 to the bookstore for a free book giveaway to the the store’s customers.
